But new developments suggest that the case will be dismissed soon.
The Los Angeles city attorney’s case against Chris Brown is crumbling one charge at a time. Prosecutors dismissed two of the three charges in the hit-and-run case against Chris on July 23. Read on for more details.
Chris Brown Hit & Run Case Crumbling — Two Charges DroppedAfter prosecutors dismissed misdemeanor charges against Chris of driving without insurance and driving without a license, only an allegation of hit-and-run remains, according to the Los Angeles Times. Chris’ attorney, Mark Geragos, has filed a motion to dismiss the final charge, saying Chris reached a settlement with the other driver, Olga Kovalenko, whose Mercedes he allegedly rear-ended in May.
Chris, who has publicly declared his innocence in the case, pleaded not guilty on July 23.
“I did everything I was suppose to do during the so called hit n run,” Chris tweeted on July 22. “I provided the correct info(rmation). There were no injuries or damages. (come on)!!”
Chris’ reps are confident that the entire case will be dismissed soon. After Chris’ probation was revoked, Chris' reps said in a statement to HollywoodLife:
“Based on this new charge, as required by law, Judge Brandlin, who is supervising Mr. Brown's probation, is required to revoke Chris' probation. However, once the Van Nuys case is dismissed, we expect this matter to be resolved and his probation to be reinstated on the same terms and conditions.”
A History Of Chris Brown's Hit-And-Run CaseThe Los Angeles County District Attorney first filed a request to revoke Chris' petition in May 2013 when Chris allegedly left the scene of a hit-and-run accident. Though the victim, Olga, didn't press charges against Chris, the D.A. still alleges that Chris fled the scene without going through all the necessary motions, including giving police his license.
However, a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Chris did give the woman his information after the accident. In fact, Karrueche Tran saw the entire ordeal! Here's what we're told:
Karrueche's got his back! She was there and witnessed the whole thing. She saw how everything went down. She was right there and watched Chris give this woman all his information and she even gave the woman her phone number, since she was involved.
Chris was originally put on probation when he physically assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

Corpus Christi Explosion Destroys Home, Leaves Two Critically Injured, A Corpus Christi explosion left three people injured and caused damage as far as three blocks away after a home suddenly exploded.The incident happened Friday morning, when a house on Holmes Drive suddenly burst into flames. Firefighters responded to a call at close to 5:30 am, finding fire coming from the center of the structure and the roof blown away.Corpus Christi Fire Chief Andy Cardiel said fire investigators are looking into the cause of the blast, and have called on the gas department to see if there may have been a leak. Utility workers cut off gas to the home so firefighters could battle the blaze.In fighting the blaze fire crews also had to open up two transformers, leaving about 20 homes without power.“As a safety precaution power in that area is off as the fire department investigates the source of the explosion,” said Andy Heines, AEP Texas spokesman. “As of 11:30 a.m. we’ve been told because of the investigation, power to those homes may not be restored until Saturday or Sunday.”The cause of the Corpus Christi explosion is still under investigation.“It’s going to be way too early to determine what a cause is at this point,” Cardiel noted.Witnesses say the neighborhood was suddenly rocked by a blast, and ran to the scene to find the house already destroyed.“The house had exploded. All the walls were down. The roof was already on the ground,” said Mike Obenhaus, who was at a restaurant nearby when the explosion occurred. “We saved a little boy, a little girl, a mom and dad. Then the adjacent house started catching fire.”Three people were injured in the Corpus Christi explosion, two critically. While the fire and damage spread through the neighborhood, fire department officials think all three victims were inside the house when it exploded.Even after the Corpus Christi explosion subsided and firefighters put out the last of the flames, heavy smoke still rose up from the home and remained visible for miles.
