Vote in the first People's Rock Hall Sidemen Election!

Sidemen Election nominees the Funk BrothersThis month, the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame is celebrating a milestone, as we begin our 20th election.  As a way of celebrating this "anniversary", we will begin having special elections which will occur on a rotating basis starting this month. Before we have our regular three week election period, we will have a special one-week period where we vote on one of four different categories. This time around we are looking at sidemen and session musicians. In coming months, we'll also vote on songwriters, "oldies" artists who need a second look, and non-performers. After doing votes on all four, we go back to sidemen again. Anyone elected in these special elections will join that class of inductees as a full member of the People's Rock Hall. Our first 15 nominees for the sidemen election are listed below along with a brief explanation of why they are noteworthy. You will probably notice that some noted sidemen who emerged in the mid/late 60s onward are not on this list. Since this is our first sidemen election, we are starting with those who were active in the early years of rock 'n' roll, and will add some later names when we cycle back again to our next sidemen election. So all you Mick Ronson, Mike Bloomfield, and Nicky Hopkins fans, don't worry, they'll get a shot next time around.HOW TO VOTE: Below is a list of fifteen candidates for the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.
